About GTA6Index

GTA6Index is an independent, fan-built knowledge platform for Grand Theft Auto VI. We’re not a news blog — we’re a structured database, an analysis library, and a set of tools, with news clearly separated from verified facts. We launched in 2025 with one goal: be the most complete, accurate, and useful GTA 6 reference on the internet.

Our Mission

The road to GTA 6 has been the longest in Rockstar Games’ history. With a 13-year gap since GTA V, information is scattered across dozens of subreddits, YouTube channels, gaming news sites, and Rockstar’s own sparse updates. GTA 6 Index exists to cut through the noise.

We track every confirmed detail, analyze every trailer frame, and follow every credible leak — then present it in a format that’s easy to navigate, search, and understand. Whether you want a quick answer to “when does GTA 6 come out?” or a deep dive into the physics engine, we’ve got you covered.

What We Cover

Our content is organized into five core sections, each designed to answer a specific set of questions:

  • Release Date & Price — Official launch date (November 19, 2026), edition pricing, pre-order availability, trailer timeline, development history, and delay analysis. We track Take-Two’s earnings calls, Rockstar’s Newswire, and retail listings so you don’t have to.
  • Platforms & Availability — PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch, Game Pass, cross-platform support, and predicted system requirements. We break down what’s confirmed, what’s rumored, and what’s unlikely.
  • Map & Locations — Vice City, Leonida State, confirmed neighborhoods, real-world Miami inspirations, and map size comparisons. Every confirmed and rumored location in one place.
  • Characters & Story — Lucia Caminos, Jason Duval, supporting cast, story theories, relationships, and how the dual-protagonist system works. We analyze every frame of trailer footage for story clues.
  • Gameplay & Features — New mechanics, vehicles, building interiors, NPC AI, wanted system, character customization, GTA Online 2, and comparisons to GTA V and RDR2.

Our Editorial Standards

We take accuracy seriously, especially when covering rumors and leaks:

  • Confirmed facts are clearly labeled and sourced from Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, or official channels.
  • Rumors and leaks are always marked as such — we never present unconfirmed information as fact. We include credibility assessments and note the source’s track record.
  • Community discussions are attributed to their origin (Reddit, GTAForums, social media) and presented as fan opinion, not official information.
  • Historical comparisons reference prior GTA titles (GTA V, GTA: San Andreas, RDR2) to provide context grounded in Rockstar’s actual track record.

How We Source Content

Our content comes from multiple channels:

  • Rockstar Newswire — Official announcements, trailer releases, and Rockstar-authored content.
  • Take-Two earnings calls & SEC filings — Financial disclosures that reveal release windows, sales targets, and platform strategies.
  • Gaming journalism — Reporting from established outlets like IGN, GameSpot, Kotaku, VGC, and others.
  • Community discussions — Trending topics and fan analysis from r/GTA6, r/GrandTheftAutoV, and GTAForums.
  • Trailer analysis — Our own frame-by-frame breakdowns of every trailer and screenshot Rockstar has released.

Who Runs This Site

All content on GTA6Index is authored by the GTA6Index Research Team — a small, independent group of long-time GTA fans and analysts. We are gamers first: people who grew up with the series from the top-down era through the HD universe. We built this site because we were tired of searching through dozens of sites for simple, reliable GTA 6 answers. You’ll see “Written by GTA6Index Research Team” on every database entry, guide, and analysis piece.
